What a beautiful day we had last Friday in Philadelphia! We were worried that it would be raining or snowing the day of Karen & Jake’s wedding, but luckily the messy weather held off until we were inside for the reception. I was thrilled to work with Cecilia Grace Portraits as my second shooter. She was an invaluable source of support and knowledge and we had a lot of fun working together. We make a great team!
Preparations began at Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia for the girls and The Franklin Residences for the men. Meredith from Revival Beauty in Medford NJ traveled out to the city and did an incredible job making our bride and bridesmaids look & feel amazing. Cecilia and I got our workouts in running from one hotel to the other to document everyone getting ready. Once it was time for the first look, we went across the street from the Monaco to the Second National Bank. (Luckily, we obtained a photography permit because the bike police came to check for it – of course, we made them stand for a portrait with the bride & groom, too!). The first look was a quick one – our groom was so anxious to see his bride he turned around too soon! It was actually pretty funny and the joy and love on his face was priceless. After we completed all of the portraits, we walked over to the Downtown Club for the ceremony & reception. We had a beautiful view of the city from the 11th floor.
It was honored to be a part of Karen & Jake’s day and I am thoroughly enjoying going through all of their pictures from the day and night. Snow began falling late that evening and which made for a magical end to a magical day. Here are a few favorites from the day.
